To meet customers demands in an agile and efficient manner, thyssenkrupp divides its operations into five business areas in Brazil. Components Technology produces high complex components for the automotive industry – with a portfolio that ranges from camshafts and crankshafts to steering and damping systems, springs and stabilizers – and other manufacturing markets such as wind power, as well as other engineering applications.
One of the leading manufacturers of urban mobility systems, Elevator Technology provides elevators, escalators and moving walks, boarding bridges and accessibility platforms to customers in the Brazilian and Latin American markets. Among the most innovative solutions in the area are MULTI (the world's first rope free elevator system), ACCEL (high-speed and high-capacity passageway) and MAX (predictive and predictive solution that increases the ability to remotely monitor elevators while avoiding stops). The production is centralized in the Guaíba plant, in Greater Porto Alegre (RS). The commercial structure comprises 63 branches and service stations located in different Brazilian cities, as well as distribution and development centers and service centers, guaranteeing national coverage in the maintenance of elevators, escalators and moving walks. With more than 3,500 employees, it is among the largest employers in the country in the elevator sector.
Another business area is Industrial Solutions, specialized in engineering, construction, supply, installation and after-sales services for mining, cement, steel, ports, chemical, among others. With advanced technology and engineering in the materials, mechanical and industrial plants divisions, Industrial Solutions provides its customers with competitive advantages with innovative products, offering solutions for sustainable progress.
The Material Services area develops customized products for the sanitation, civil construction and aerospace industries, among others, with the objective of ensuring that every piece needed for manufacturing is always in the right place at the right time. Its portfolio in Brazil includes the supply of machinery, equipment and sheet piles for port works and civil engineering in general, as well as management of metallic raw materials, machining and assembly of complex parts for aerospace industries.
Finally, Steel Americas is responsible for the production of high-quality steel slabs using customized materials solutions for the most complex applications. In Brazil, almost 4,000 employees work at Companhia Siderúrgica do Atlântico (CSA), one of thyssenkrupp's most modern manufacturing plants in the world, founded in 2010.
