thyssenkrupp appoints Paulo Alvarenga as new CEO for South America
The industrial and technology group thyssenkrupp has appointed Paulo Alvarenga as the new CEO for South America. Alvarenga will be responsible for leading the business strategy in a region with global importance, and where the company has been operating for 180 years.
Alvarenga will accumulate the position of CEO of the Industrial Solutions business area for South America, which he holds since 2016. The executive succeeds Giovanni Pozzoli, current CFO of thyssenkrupp South America and acting CEO for the region until now.
Paulo Alvarenga joined thyssenkrupp in 2012, as vice president for South America. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Itajubá (MG), and specializations in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), and Business Management from IMD (Institute of Management Development) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Prior to joining thyssenkrupp, he worked for almost 20 years at Siemens.
