thyssenkrupp named one of Embraer's best suppliers
• Recognition celebrates a 20-year partnership and reinforces the German company's performance in providing services to the aerospace industry
thyssenkrupp, through its Autômata unit - which provides highly complex services and components for the aerospace industry - is among the winners of the Embraer Supplier of the Year Award. The German conglomerate, which has been a partner of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer's for 20 years, was named the best supplier in the Machining Technology category.
"This is a very important recognition as it reinforces the long-standing partnership we have built with Embraer," says José Wilmar de Mello, director of thyssenkrupp Autômata. He points out that on time delivery, stable supply and the high quality of the product were the main factors that led Embraer to award the prize to thyssenkrupp.
Located in Taubaté (SP), thyssenkrupp Autômata, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2018, was acquired by thyssenkrupp in 2005 and joined thyssenkrupp Aerospace, a business unit whose portfolio includes a wide range of manufacturing and management services for the aerospace supply chain, such as the procurement of raw materials, warehousing, precision machining, third-party logistics and just-in-time delivery. The unit has 40 plants in 20 countries on five continents, employing over 1,800 people and processing more than 10 million high-precision components a year. Among thyssenkrupp Aerospace's more than 3,500 clients are the largest global aircraft manufacturers.
