Metalúrgica Campo Limpo
Inaugurated in June, 1961, Metalúrgica Campo Limpo is considered the largest crankshafts forging plant in the world. The facility, located in the city of Campo Limpo Paulista - about 60 kilometers from São Paulo, was thyssenkrupp's first operating unit outside Europe and the Group's first plant in Brazil.
This operation boosted thyssenkrupp's performance in several segments in Brazil, such as automotive. Metalúrgica Campo Limpo is today one of the largest suppliers of engine components to the main OEMs in the world.
Metalúrgica Campo Limpo is part of thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies, the Group's business unit that is a global leader in the forged and machined crankshaft market, thanks to more than a century of experience in this segment.
Present in 7 countries and 5 continents, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has more than 6,800 employees around the world.
Altogether, there are about 50 forging lines with an installed capacity of 435,000 metric tons per year and different press configurations and forces for the production of crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, chassis and gearbox parts, in addition to other components forged for many high performance applications.
